Treat others the way you want to be treated
I’ve always tried to live my life following the saying “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” I stress on “try” because I am only human, of course I struggle with following this when things get tuff.
However recently, I felt like I was almost being taken advantage of. I felt unappreciated. I felt like no matter what I do to please others, it is just not enough… Others don’t recognize the effort that I’m putting in, etc…
I meditated on this one morning and I received the real meaning of this phrase. I received the sentence that follows the phrase which I was missing throughout my life.
“Treat others the way you want to be treated with love, respect, and appreciation, but don’t expect anything in return. Don’t equate other’s treatment of you be the measurement of your self-worth. Remember to love yourself and appreciate yourself, everything else is just a bonus.”
Long story short, it is just YOU who need to know and appreciate what you did and what you do. In a way, self-satisfaction is what you are after. If what you do get recognized that’s great, but if you don’t, you only need to be happy with yourself.
Universe is great. Once I shifted my mind and started living my life with this new motto, I received a few positive feedback from people who I thought didn’t respect me that much all out of blue… I thank universe for always looking after me!
