Reincarnation is like a game of football
I went to a psychic fair for the first time in my life over the weekend. For those of you who have reaction to a word “psychic” may roll your eyes like I have done for most of my life, but I hope you would bear with me… While I grew up having allergic reaction to a word “psychic,” I always was fascinated by it. I think this reaction was my ego telling me to stay away because it could change my life. Ego block is a good topic for another day…
I took home one very easy to understand analogy for reincarnation. So I decided this will be my inaugural blog topic! By the way, you will get used to me using analogy to explain just about anything. My passion is to relay the meaning behind a communication in context recipients would understand easily.
Think of reincarnation as you are watching a football game
This is roughly how this psychic reader explained to me about reincarnation in her belief system. I never heard it explained this way, but I really liked it. She explained it is like you are watching a football game in a spirit form from above. It is like watching a game on TV. You don’t know how it feels like to be in a football game, but you can watch it and cheer. And you come down and say “I’d like to learn to be a coach.” And live the life of a coach and gain that knowledge and go back. Then you say, “this time, I’d like to be a quarterback.” And back you go again and so on.
Believe what you want
I mentioned a belief system. There are many different belief systems in the world. A belief system like a religion can be great to bring people together. But it also has a dark side of separating people apart that don’t believe in the same thing. So I believe in what I want in a way I want it. Maybe this is influenced by my bring up as a Japanese child who couldn’t tell the difference between a Shinto religious belief, a Buddhism belief, or something that my parents made up. But even before I started believing in spirituality, I often made up my own belief system that is a combination of what I thought is good from different sources.
I love learning about different cultures and belief systems. Participated in a Christian church nativity scene for Christmas as a child even though my parents weren’t that keen on me doing that. Learned English from Mormon missionaries and they shared their stories why they are in Japan. All the while continuing to go to Buddhist temple for a New Year’s celebration. This way of living might not be for everyone but it suites me and served me so far. So this is how I roll…
If you don’t know how, just do it
Nike got it… I used to and still struggle with analysis paralysis where you think too much and make no decision or take no action. I’m so much better now… How do I do it? I just keep moving and be OK with an imperfection. I’ve since learned that perfection is #1 enemy for getting things done. Oh, trust me it is hard for me who is rather perfectionist… You must have one of these friends who seem to do things well, but they say they are awful? That’s me! Since I found spirituality, I’ve been working so hard to change this. Why am I mentioning this that doesn’t really have anything to do with reincarnation topic? Well, my blog is the best example of me taking my own advise. I will start small. I probably don’t write well, but I will continue to publish. So please don’t expect perfection from this blog. This is my work in progress…
Please provide feedback!
While perfection is not a goal, I look to improve and learn. What did you think about my blog? I hope it was as enjoyable to read it as for me to write it. If not, why not? I’d love to hear from you about what you thought and what other topic you want me to cover in the future!
