Meditation to let go ~rock version~
It seems that my theme this week is rock. Rock is talking to me very strongly this week, first through my dog who normally carry wooden sticks suddenly deciding to carry a huge rock (over 3 inch diameter) during our walk. And during the same walk, one another rock spoke to me and I was guided to throw it back into a river per its request. Oh, and I went to a rock climbing gym for the first time over the weekend to boot!
Fast forward a few days, I was meditating this morning and I felt very heavy energy on my chest. Long story short, it was something I haven’t been able to let go. It turned into a rock for me so my human mind can imagine and visualize. Here’s what I was guided to do and I think this is useful for others as well…
I’ve written a blog before called, Meditation to let go, and it feels like this is another version but spoken through rock.
Meditation to let go
- Identify a place in your body where it feels heavy. In my case was chest, but it could be anywhere in your body. It is possible it is multiple places.
- Really visualize the rock. How big is it? What’s the texture of the rock? More vividly you can imagine, the better.
- Once you can clearly visualize the rock, ask it what it represent. What are you holding on? You may or may not get an answer and it’s OK, but you should ask just in case you get a hint.
- If you get an answer, intend for the rock to carry all that it is representing. If you didn’t get the answer, just pretend you know the answer and let universe guide you. Then, ask yourself and universe “do I REALLY want to let it go?”
- You may get a fuzzy feeling that you don’t want to let go. Then you have a homework to do. You need to go deep and find out WHY so. You may get a “yes,” then you are ready for next step…
- In case you get YES answer, hold the rock by both your hands and feel its heaviness, shape, etc. Gently return it to the river, or if you are guided to do so, throw it wildly. It depends on what you are letting go… You want to return it to river not pond or something stagnant. You want energy to flow and cleanse it…
- Look into your body to see if there are other rocks you can let go of.
- Collect rocks and return to the river until you feel refreshed. You might not get there in one shot, then you could repeat this. If it still doesn’t help you, it is possible that you are not really hoping to let go of it yet, so mediate on that instead…
